FAQ

How does this shopping experience work?

  • Join Mel’s Simply Reclaimed on Facebook.

  • Note, Sundays and Wednesdays are “auction days.” Auction listings start at 10 AM and begin closing at 8 PM. Just comment a price higher than the last person in comments if you are wanting an item. You can do this until all items are pended to the winner. Pending to winners begins at 8 PM. Auctioneer will close the auction from bottom of list up to top (least active posts up to most active).

  • Mondays and Tuesdays are “claim days.” These posts go live at 6 PM. First to comment will get the items pended to them for the week.

  • You shop all week. You will receive an invoice on Thursdays at the conclusion of the week. We have a team that is keeping a Spreadsheet or “cart” for you all week!

  • Pick up days are Fridays and Saturdays. Times are usually 2-6pm on Friday and 10a-12p on Saturday. Should that need to change, it will be posted on FB Group Site with as much notice as possible.

Do you Ship?

  • Yes! Please contact Melissa via FB Private Messages if you need shipping. Actual shipping rates apply with no extra handling fee.

What happens if I cannot pick up on the pick up days?

  • We will be glad to hold for you if you can pay by the scheduled pick up day via FB Pay, Venmo, or PayPal. If you need a different arrangement, please contact FB Group Admin, Melissa, via FB messenger.

Do people get banned from the site?

  • Yes. Ways to get banned: Lack of communication on invoice day and pick up days will get you banned. Bidding in auctions and not picking up is unfair to all of the Reclaimed Shopper family. To avoid being banned, communicate with auctioneer and pick up/pay for items on time. Invoices are sent via Facebook Messenger. If you do not see it easily, check your chat folders. Sometimes the initial chat can take a second to find.

  • Insulting bidders and soliciting on the page will also get you banned without warning.

Can I refuse an item at pick up?

  • If an item was misworded or misrepresented in anyway from posting, items can be rejected at pick up. Examples: If an item was broke since posting or if an item was stated to be a gallon and was only a quart. Accidents do happen; therefore, please check your items before you leave. You may also refuse any item that does not work if you choose to test it on premises. Once you leave, there are no refunds or returns.

Do you test all items before selling?

  • I do try to test most items before selling. There are times where I cannot due to not knowing how to use the item or having the specific battery to test. Sometimes my testing is limited to just checking for power. I do list in my descriptions if it was tested and if it works. You may test items at pick up and refuse item if they do not work with no penalties. My goal is to bless others by selling wanted items… not to make money through making unhappy customers. Please note, once you leave the property with your items, there is no refund.

  • It is the responsibility of the buyer to check all DVDs, vinyl and CDs at pick up time. You may refuse any of these as well if they look scratched. I get so many, I just don’t have time to test. I have not had any issues with this thus far, but I also want you to be able to buy with confidence. You won’t be charged if you refuse DVDs and CDs. They must be looked at on property though. Once you leave, no refund.

Can I find Mel’s Simply Reclaimed elsewhere online besides Facebook?

  • Yes! We do have an eBay shop: mels_simply_reclaimed

  • Etsy and Poshmark coming soon.

  • Instagram and TikTok coming soon.

Where can I find this information on the FB Group Site?

  • You can find all this information listed under the “Featured” tab on the top of the page.

What does it mean to be a runner-up bidder on auction day?

  • This means you are committed to buying the item if the first person falls through. Because we use FB as our platform, we cannot predict or stop trolls or nonserious buyers from shopping at first. The best way to handle this is to eliminate the damage they have done. The Auctioneer is great at dropping the price when necessary for the runner-up. In the event this happens, you will be notified that you have won the item and it is added to your cart. You are not obligated to come pick up the next week. The item will be paired to your next purchase. This method works well as the buyer usually gets a better deal than they had originally committed to and it creates a great solution to not be harmed by impostures.

Do bids automatically increase by increments as they climb higher?

  • No. You get to choose your own bids as long as in whole dollar and higher than the last bid.
